Hi and welcome!
If you are new here - hi, I'm Conny. I am the maker behind Real to the Roots, a one-woman show run from my home studio in the Pacific Northwest.
I love being creative. Making fun statement jewelry for women who celebrate their femininity, enjoy late summer nights or coffee dates with friends is the just the thing that brings me tons of joy. I am currently finishing up a whole collection of new festival worthy pieces that will catch some attention and will make you feel so boholicious!
This month, I'm kicking off something new - a monthly blog post to share what's brewing behind the scenes, highlight new launches, and maybe even let you peek into my creative (aka utter chaotic) process, some bits about myself and all my other follies. And what better way to begin than with the thing I love most:
Festival Season
I recently had a professional photo shoot (yep, finally!) and I am obsessed with how Jen from Arrows Photography and Film captured the vibe - vivacious, earthy, boho with a western twist, and always wearable. We showcased my hammered brass earrings that catch the light and are so lightweight you could dance the night away in them without them hurting your ears. We created beautiful visuals of my dare I say 'magical patina'. The blues are so mesmerizing - I can't get enough of making new batches (more details on that coming maybe next month?). You'll see some of my favorite shots throughout the site and socials soon, but blog readers get a first look right here.
Whether you're headed to a country concert, wine tasting with your girls or maybe dancing barefoot in Sedona, my jewelry is made to move, made with real and grounding materials - brass, stainless steel, natural stones - so it can handle the heat!
June Birthstone and Wedding Vibes
Did you know moonstone is one of June's birthstones? Its soft rainbow shimmer, called adularescence, and calming energy make it the perfect gem for warm summer nights and glowing skin. Moonstone is linked to feminine energy, new beginnings, intuition and emotional balance. Maybe that is why moonstone is also very popular with brides for themselves or their maids. It pairs beautifully with white dresses and brings out even more magic for that special day. Also fun are opalite stones. Opalite is a man-made glass stone that shimmers blueish white. It looks absolutely gorgeous against any skin tone making it a popular stone for anyone. Here is one of my bestsellers to consider if you are in the market for a new trinket. Special orders for bridesmaids can be arranged! You can message or email me directly at realtotherootsjewelry@gmail.com

What's Next?
Future plans for Real to the Roots include expanding my reach to Pinterest. Part of the reason this photo shoot was important to me. If you know anything about social media and reaching an audience you may know that Instagram is famous for short lived fame. I am hopeful to grow a tribe of boho queens on Pinterest - one of my favorite places to search for planting, cooking and decorating tips. Help me get discovered? Here is a link to my Pinterest. Soon I will have nicer boards with more organization. Stay tuned for the transformation as I am hiring someone to help me tackle this new project.
Next time I'll share some of my favorite homemade things (besides the jewelry), explain where the name "Real to the Roots" came from and we will look at some fun summer trends like layering necklaces.
Thanks for being here. I'm glad you found me.
Stick around. It's going to be fun.
Love,
Conny

I bought 3 pair of earrings and a bracelet at the Vancouver Farmers Market this week and I like them so much. I’ll be wearing them a lot.
